The mission of
the
Barnaba Institute is to raise
awareness about human trafficking as it
pertains to sexual exploitation through
education and media; to provide
professional training courses on how to
identify human trafficking victims and
to provide support, guidance and care to
sexually exploited and trafficked youth
and adults.
One of the primary missions of the
Barnaba Institute is to raise awareness
about human trafficking, also referred
to as modern-day slavery. The Barnaba
Institute raisesawareness through media
interviews, lectures and professional
training courses designed to inform
professionals such as non-profit
outreach workers, law enforcement and
health care workers to identify and
properly care for trafficked victims.
Presentations also include inspirational
stories of youth and women Mr. Barnaba
has helped throughout his career. As
more victims of human trafficking and
sexual exploitation are being
discovered, it is imperative to have a
large network of educated professionals
adept at helping this unique population.
The Barnaba Institute Street Outreach
Program provides aid to trafficked and
exploited victims in an area that is
known to have prostitution activity.
Outreach staff provides support,
guidance, hygienic supplies, emergency
contact information, health information
and referrals to appropriate resources,
such as shelter, to each client.
